Missy is a very special, long awaited for girl. After 2 previously failed attempts and many months of searching I am delighted to introduce you to Missy. What makes Missy so special is that she is a polydactyl Maine Coon. You can read all about Maine Coon Polydactyl cats here.

Missy has a totally serene and calming aura about her. She is not suited to a fast paced life, and prefers lazily, lounging around and cuddles. Her breeder describes her as a "gentle, loving soul" and this sums her up totally. We are all totally smitten with her.

Missy's name comes from The Mamaku Blue winery located in Rotorua, NZ which bases it's products all around the "miracle berry" known for it's many health benefits. The blueberry originates from North East America and was introduced to settlers from England in Plymouth, US during the seventeenth century. There are many similarities between this and the Maine Coon Polydactyl cat, that made me think this was rather a suitable name for our little star, not to mention that they make what is supposed to be a rather nice glass of wine:)

Missy had her first litter of kittens in December 2006. She had a beautiful litter of 5 kittens, 3 of which were polydactyl kittens, I believe the first in the UK.
